Flashback, Fast Forward

Posted on March 31, 2008

Go with me back to two weeks ago … Easter. I didn’t expect it to be as powerful or as impactful as it was. Why? It was right in the middle of Spring Break. And then, to pile it on, the Sweet Sixteen was on!

Yet, I was shocked at what God did at Fellowship Church! I had the opportunity to speak at all of our campuses live and see each campus thriving. Talk about a whirlwind tour!

But looking back, I can’t help but look forward.

Easter is an important weekend. That’s obvious. But I don’t think we can really measure the impact of Easter until the next several weekends after Easter. So often we concentrate too much on Easter and miss what’s happening after Easter.

This past weekend we saw some of that impact. I hope you did too. And I’m looking forward with great anticipation over the next several weeks to see what God does, to see the turf we’ve all taken for the kingdom. I’m praying for you and can’t wait to hear what you’re doing as well.

Maybe this is not the place to bring this up but whatever! I visited Fellowship in FW yesterday and I was shocked, to say the least, at all the people that were there. In my mind driving there I thought,’There’ll only be a handful of people’ but man was I mistaken! It was exciting to see all of the people there and I even had 6 people tell me ‘Hello, can I help you?’ So, congratulate your volunteers at the campus!!
Anyways, besides all that, I’m a student at a local seminary, which you are familiar with, and wondered if you’re not way too busy, we could correspond/chat/talk with another about ministry. (vision, style, purpose, etc.) Sorry do it in this forum but hey, why not!

Easter was pretty disappointing at least I thought. But this weekend I saw God show up in our church. In fact it was after church. When many people gathered around and begin praying for a woman who is facing strong persecution for her belief in God, at work. As I listened to people pray and open up what was in there hearts I began to see God is moving and he is changing lives and his word is not returning void. Some of the people who prayed I have never heard pray before. Changed lives do not just happen all at once it is a journey and I am thankful for fellowship and creativepastors.com for helping give me the encouragement and resources to affectively travel that journey.
I am praying for you Ed, Tracy, Preston, Owen and the rest of your leaders. Keep up the great work.

    You’re right.
I was excited during our 6 Easter services, but was shocked to see how many came back last weekend hungry for more.
